Lucky.

Meet Lucky.

I made him for my shop and was waiting for a peaceful, sunny afternoon to photograph him. In the mean time, he's been sitting on my work table in my craft room -- peering at me with those curious green eyes.

It was yesterday afternoon when I finally realized why Lucky was never going to make it into my shop -- that curious look on his face reminded me of someone... my little brother. And, when I made the connection in my mind, I knew that the connection had to be made in person.

My brother is actually not so little anymore (he'll be 32 in August), but I've always spoiled him and given him special treats. I considered waiting for his birthday, but Lucky's face told me that he needed to go now. And so, last night the match was made.

I am working on other dragons for the shop -- which I hope to have listed soon. Keep your eyes peeled!

  1. I love him. Now I want to make a dragon--I have too many other projects to complete first.

  2. Aww this story brought a tear to my eye knowing you made this and thought of your Little Brother. I'm wondering how did he re-act when he received it? You did a great job :D I just love your work!

  3. Ha ha! @Yarnabees -- my brother is a bit of an old-school stoic, so he's not big into emotional displays or anything. He did really like the dragon though -- I can always tell ;-)

  4. Lucky is so cute. I love this dinosaur pattern, I think my son would absolutely love at least one of these, probably more. I just ordered your dove pattern, next time it'll be this adorable dinosaur!

  5. @ CMC -- the doves are a personal favorite and I think you're really going to enjoy making them. My favorite part about them is how many different personalities I can come up with just by switching the colors on the same pattern ;-)
