So, we have Mickey's body-less head, trying to give Waffle nightmares...
Like any other cat, Waffle thinks that making a dog amigurumi is a waste of good yarn (that he could be playing with). So after feigning sleep as long as he possibly could, Waffle rolled over and turned his back on the whole production...
After attaching the head to the body and getting things sewn up, I realized that I have no idea what kind of tail a Maltese has... so, while I wait to hear back from Mickey's mommy, here's Mickey with everything but the tail.
I still have some tweaking to do, and a few more special additions (like, oh... a tail) but I'm pretty happy with how Mickey has turned out. For those of you who are into crochet, I've also been keeping track of the pattern (you know what that means!)
You can keep up with Mickey's progress in my Ravelry notebook, although I will almost certainly post the finished work here too. Now, it's time to take a break on Mickey and start re-stocking some fuzzy whazzits!
lucky Mickey,, he is adorable.keep up the good work,Amy
ReplyDeleteOh my god!!!! That is sooooooo amazing! I can't get over it! I linked all my family to it lol You don't understand I've never thought of myself as an animal/dog person, but Mickey is just the best!! He's my lil side kick! This is way too perfect! I'm so excited and so impressed!
ReplyDeletePs he's a maltese, you can add that in the search or on the pattern :)
oh didn't I say it's completely awesome?!!!! :)
Oh my goodness! He's so cute! I have a maltese. I would love one of these! Are you thinking of making more? :)
ReplyDeleteI hope to make a few more Maltese for my shop, but want to check with Mickey's owner whether I can use his likeness in naming/patterns first.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the kind comments!
I just keep coming back to look at him :)
