The disaster in Japan has weighed on my mind over since I first saw pictures on CNN. I wanted to do something to help and so I came up with a very special little pattern.
These two little lanterns are perfect sized for your Blythe or Pullip dolls -- or they can be strung together to make a garland of strength and hope for our friends in Japan. No matter how you choose to use the design, you will be helping out too.
Here's the deal... you can purchase the pattern from my Ravelry pattern shop, straight off the blog (no Ravelry/Etsy sign-in needed) or in my Etsy shop for just $2.25 -- I keep $.25 to cover listing fees, PayPal fees, etc., and the remaining $2.00 goes to the American Red Cross.
And, if you're new to amigurumi crochet, this pattern is perfect for you. The lanterns' simple design will teach you two very important shapes used all over the place in amigurumi -- the sphere and the elongated sphere. Master these and you open the doors to your own world of amigurumi design.
As always, I hope you enjoy the designs as much as I enjoyed coming up with them and I thank you for your help in supporting Japan during this time of need!
