Little Penguin

About This Pattern

This design came to life after I spent a Monday morning volunteering in my daughter’s elementary school library. The librarian told me that she planned to read “Penguin and Pinecone,” by Salina Yoon and my job was to cut and set up card stock penguins for the smaller children to use in imaginary play. She lamented that the card stock was flimsy and wished that she had something a little more substantial. Two days later, I presented the school librarian with a set of five penguins to use with the little ones. What can I say? I’m a sucker when it comes to encouraging kids to read!
